Early in the morning on Monday 9th June 2008 Nicky Walker will set off on her bike from Greenwich, London and will attempt to complete the 900 mile journey from London to Nice in just 10 days. Average distances will be 70-110 miles a day, meaning anything between 5-9 hours a day in the saddle.
Stopping only for performance-enhancing pâtisserie and the odd café crème, Nicky will hope to arrive in Nice on Wednesday 18th June.
The next stage of her epic challenge: the 2008 Ironman France-Nice Triathlon (swim 3.8k, bike 180k, run a marathon!).
D-Day is Sunday 22nd June at 0630 hours.
The motivation for this midsummer madness? Raising money for three great causes: Erskine Homes, Disability Snowsport UK and the British Biathlon Team.
